Skade Press is an independent comics publisher, founded in 2026 in Copenhagen by comic-artist Hejbrolme.
The press started with a simple need: to make room for the kind of work that sits at the intersection of fine arts practices and DIY comic culture — alternative comics, satirical graphic narratives, and character-driven stories that might not find a home in mainstream publishing.
For now, Skade Press focuses on publishing Hejbrolme‘s own work — comics rooted in diary-based storytelling, absurdism, and observational satire without a punchline. Looking ahead, the press is open to collaborating with other artists who share its sensibilities and commitment to the independent scene.
Hejbrolme studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where his practice centered on drawing, painting, 2D animation, and sequential works. His current day-job as a software engineer fuels much of his corporate satire comics. Alongside running Skade Press, Hejbrolme is a member of the Danish Comic Council (Dansk Tegneserieråd), of the collective space for artists’ books, Bladr, and he volunteers in planning the upcoming Copenhagen Comics Festival.
